Tour the Estate and Visit Sunnylands Center & Gardens

Guided tours of Sunnylands, the former winter residence of Walter and Leonore Annenberg, are offered Thursdays through Sundays, except during July and August or when a retreat is being held on the estate.

Tickets are available online only and are released two weeks in advance on the first and fifteenth of every month at 9 a.m. (PST). Tickets released on the first are for the sixteenth through the end of the month; those released on the fifteenth of the month are for the first through the fifteenth of the following month. (For example: On January 1, tickets are released for tour dates January 16 - 31; on January 15, tickets are released for tour dates February 1 - 15.) 
All sales are final; there are no refunds, exchanges, or wait list.  
In some rare instances a retreat is scheduled with little advance notice and Sunnylands may be forced to refund tour tickets. In these cases, refunds will be made promptly and Sunnylands will make every effort to accommodate the ticket-buyer at a later date. 
 
Sunnylands Center & Gardens is open free with no advance reservation. 
Thursdays through Sundays

The historic estate and Sunnylands Center & Gardens are closed in July and August.  
 
Parking is free. Carpooling is encouraged.

Historic House & Grounds

Visits to the historic estate are by guided tour only. Tickets for the 90-minute tours are $35 per person. Tours are limited to seven people each and there are 15 tours a day. All tours require advance reservations as space is extremely limited. The house and one tour shuttle are accessible for guests using wheelchairs. When purchasing tickets please indicate your special needs. Visitors are reminded that tours take place rain or shine and transportation is in an open-sided vehicle. Please anticipate up to a half mile of walking indoors and outdoors and remember that standing is required. There is no seating in the house.  
 
Tickets: are released at 9 a.m. (PST) on the first and fifteenth of each month for tours two weeks later. (For example: On January 1, tickets will be released for tour dates January 16 - 31.) You will be able to reserve and pay for tickets online only. No children under 10 years of age are permitted on tours of the estate and house. There is no student or senior discount.  
 
Tours depart promptly from Sunnylands Center every 15 minutes from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. It is suggested that guests arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tour time. Purchase tickets here. All sales are final; there are no refunds, exchanges, or wait list.  
 
Group tours (minimum of 21/ maximum of 70) are sold out for this season. We will begin to take reservations for the 2013-14 season in July 2013. If you have already submitted a request and we find that a date becomes available due to a cancellation, we will contact you.  
For planning purposes: Group tours are offered on Wednesdays and cost $45 per person. To place a group tour request, there is an online submission form that will be available in July. Within four to six weeks of your request, the group tour manager will be in touch to confirm a date and time and request a non-refundable deposit. Other Tours & Walks

Guided garden walks are scheduled on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. No reservations are required for this hour-long exploration of the wildflower field, labyrinth, and 1.25 miles of paved and unpaved garden paths.  
Bird-watching walks are held free at the Center Gardens on select Fridays at 9:15 a.m., including March 29, April 12 & 26, May 17 & 24. Walks are conducted by knowledgeable birders and include an hour of walking. Binoculars or scopes are recommended. 
 
Bird-watching tours, different from the walks, take place on the Sunnylands estate at 9:15 a.m every Thursday through May 2013. Tickets for the 90-minute bird-watching shuttle tour, limited to seven people, are $25 per person. Tickets are released two weeks in advance on the first and fifteenth of each month at 9:00 a.m. (For example: tickets for January 3 will be released on December 15.) 
 

Plan Your Visit

Sunnylands is in a desert environment, home to a variety of plants and wildlife. Be aware of your surroundings, watch your step, and help your children explore safely. 
 
Visitors are encouraged to be prepared with water, hat, sunscreen, etc. No food or drink other than water is allowed on tours of the historic estate. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. 
 
Sunnylands is a smoke-free environment.
